Off to bed, marquees and showground to dismantle tomorrow!! If you have the energy, come and give us a hand...WE NEED IT.
We've had a fabulous day. If you didn't make it then you missed a treat. Get Sunday August 26th 2012 in your diary NOW.
Off to bed, marquees and showground to dismantle tomorrow!! If you have the energy, come and give us a hand...WE NEED IT. The team setting out the Showground have experienced two days of some extremely heavy rain but have worked through it. Today (Saturday) is the last day and all hands will be 'on deck' to put the finishing touches together.
The sun is out and the sky is (currently) blue...and I am hoping that Wales' own weatherman Derek Brockway will ensure we have a dry day tomorrow. See you there! There has been a great deal of hard work going on over the past few days. Hedges have been cut, competition rings staked out and today the Farmers' Market, Shearing and Pet Show marquees have all gone up. Thanks to all the volunteers for their hard work.
That's right, there are just 5 days left until the 5th Llangynidr Agricultural Show. The Committee has been busy finalising arrangements and during the next few days the Show ground will be coming to life. If your passing the village hall, give the team a beep. Remember to get any Garden& Craft Show enteries in by Wednesday (tomorrow) and do consider joining in the various free to enter classes including fancy dress, It's a Knockout and largest nettle! Don't worry, I'm talking about some great main ring entertainment that we have lined up NOT the dimise of the Show! Mid Wales Axe Racing Club, The Welsh Axemen will be demonstrating a range of skills during two performances on Sunday afternoon. Highlights will include Man vs. Machine (chainsaw races against a two man crosscut saw) and a Springboard Tree Climb (ascending a tree and then balancing on a board whilst cutting a log with an axe??!!) Image from http://www.welshaxemen.co.uk/ Wednesday 24th August is the deadline for the 68th Annual Garden Show. Don't miss out (or be like me and run around on the evening of the final day) - complete your entry from now and get it to Gill Richardson (address on page 2 of the schedule)
The entry form is available to download and print separately from the Garden & Craft Show page We are very excited to announce that local gardening designer, presenter and 'Professional Outdoorist' Lynne Allbutt, and dowser John Flavell will be creating a mown Labyrinth on the village hall playing fields which will be ready by the end of the month for visitors to the Show to enjoy.
For those of you who have been quick to spot that I've used maze in the title to this post and are actually talking about a labyrinth (not the same thing) well done - Are you as quick in coming up with a whitty alternative that incorperates labyrinth (I couldn't).....post your comments here and best one will get a wrist band for free entry to the Show. |
